MY MOTHER’S DAY

What a wonderful Mother’s Day I had. It was filled with family, great food, sweet surprises, and most importantly, the little lady who gave me my street cred, as I like to say. Miss Ruby Sue was full of smiles and laughter and cuddles which makes this mama feel awfully special.
Saturday night we met with my parents for dinner at the local eatery, Blue Lemon. The food is fresh and healthy, and to our delight, they were treating all mothers to 50% off– what a lovely treat! A fun moment of the evening– a darling withHEART reader stopped me and said hello! She had the most beautiful freckles and was just so very sweet– thank you for saying hi and your kind words! It was such an unexpected and sincere compliment– don’t you just love when that happens?
Sunday, my man made me waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. My favorite touch of the meal– the hot cocoa, also topped with whipped cream (I drink hot cocoa like most people drink coffee). He got me flowers and the sweetest card and gift, which he said Ruby and he conspired on. Following church, we headed to my in-laws to celebrate my remarkable mother-in-law (Ruby’s namesake), and then it was off to dinner, with just my little family.
