What do you do with the formal living room when you’re not really a formal family? It’s a question I get asked a lot. Many homes have that awkward space that collects dust, that no one ever goes in except for a random visitor from time to time. Our clients from #projectmodernfamily had one such space and we turned it into a loved music room.
Our client’s late mother taught him to play the piano, and they are precious memories. We used a soft color palette, framed music sheets of their favorite song, and made a soft, soothing space reminiscent of her personal style.
The custom live edge coffee table added the perfect mix of materials we were looking for.
This room went from somewhere the family rarely went to the center of the action. It’s such a gorgeous extension of the rest of the home’s flow.
Have you checked out the rest of this gorgeous home? It’s a rabbit hole you’ll definitely want to jump down. Check out all of Project Modern Family here.
