Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. It’s also my favorite season to decorate the porch at the #staggreno . I smile every time I drive up to my home, catch a glimpse out the door through the glass, or greet someone at the door. Today is the day I get to reveal the fall porch at the Stagg Reno!
I’m excited to announce I’m collaborating with Deseret Book to style their fall home decor for the season. Starting in October, you’ll be able to catch our video collabs giving you styling tips and showcasing my favorite Deseret Book decor picks. The videos will be on social, in newsletters, and also will play in Deseret Book stores nationwide.
Now, let’s get to some details about the fall porch setup. I wanted this year’s scene to be all about the pumpkins. I went with what I call the Cinderella style pumpkins, rather than traditional orange. I love the variety in colors, textures, and sizes.
When choosing pumpkins, think in terms of threes: three sizes, three-four colors and textures, then pair them together in a layered pattern.
Isn’t that door mat so cute? Such a sweet message it shares with all who come and go. The wood tray is pretty incredible craftsmanship. It’s handmade by an Amish craftsman.
I love piling little pumpkins on larger ones, tilting them on their side, and making it feel as if the pumpkins just landed on my porch rather than making everything feel too perfect or placed. Haphazard yet strategic. Yes, there is strategy to pumpkin placement!
The pumpkins were the launching point for the color scheme, and from there I added some gorgeous fall foliage. I love mums, but I didn’t want to make them the main focal point. Instead, I filled our slant planters near the door with a bold, bright fall flower. The black planters I chose a red, hearty leafy Coleus. Both were found at my local Home Depot garden center, along with the mums in various sizes and colors.
The wreath is a favorite find for this season. The pillows are all from Deseret Book and they have such a pretty variety of fall pillows! The lanterns complement any season and are a porch staple.
I hope this gives you a little inspiration as you prep your porch for fall! Stay tuned for our first Deseret Book video release soon!
Happy fall!
xx,
Jen
