Not all girls are “girly.” Not every young girl loves pink or ballet and we think that’s not only ok, we think it’s awesome. You know what else is awesome? Designing a room for a non-pink loving tween girl who loves it so much, she didn’t want to leave her room for days following our install. Today we’re going back inside Project Fit Fam and showing you Bria’s Room.
Bria loves blue and deeper colors, so our color palette was the first thing we settled on. She had a painting in her room that we repurposed and used as the guiding force for the rest of her room. I loved pulling out the blackberry, navy, and sky blue colors then using them in different ways throughout the space.
We all fell in love with the cloud shaped settee and we wallpapered the ceiling in our popular Stagg Design Shop Brume Wallpaper in Sky.
I wish you could make it out more in the photos, but we put a neon sign above her bed that reads “have courage and be kind.” It’s so perfect for this darling girl!
Accessorizing her desk was really fun. She loves to take polaroid photos, so we used a light up photo garland to display them. She can swap the photos in and out.
We also found a sweet speaker that resembles a retro radio but can play her iPod. I also am in love with the cute hummingbird art. It all came together so seamlessly. It was so fun to see her immediately run into her room and literally not leave for days. The best compliment!
You’ll definitely not want to miss out on the other spaces we’ve revealed in Project Fit Fam. You can see the Design Beginnings where we share the backstory of the project, the Bunk Room that will make you want to be nine years old again, and the Master Bedroom! Much more on this gorgeous home to come. Stay tuned!
My daughter is the same. I would love details on purchasing the bedding and the have courage and be kind sign!
Hi there! I believe the bedding is from Urban Outfitters, and the sign was custom made.
Are the walls & trim painted the same color? Could you please tell me the colors you used?
Hi there! So sorry, it was painted before we started her room so I’m not sure the color.
