This post is from our Stagg Design project archives and originally posted in June 2016. We hope it gives you inspiration and some tips for tackling that next project! xx- Team Stagg
It’s time for another round of the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours put on by my friend, Lindsey.
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to participate (it’s always so inspiring! Every blogger brings their A game). I went back and forth on what to share, as we have been busy at work refreshing our front porch for summer. However, I’ve been lining all of my ducks up to share the #Staggreno master bedroom and thought this was the perfect time. It may not be all summer flowers, but I can’t wait to spend all summer sleeping here in so, there’s that connection, right?
First, if you’re visiting from The Makerista, welcome! Gwen is so bold with color– her home’s moody tones and rich interiors are swoon worthy.
If you’re new around here, the #Staggreno is our 1970 mid-century modern ranch. We’ve been renovating it (everything was untouched and it had been vacant for 8 years). It’s been quite the project (you can see a whole slew of before and after shots HERE). There are also before video tours, which you should get a kick out of.
Let’s start with a few before shots, shall we? Here is what the master bedroom looked like when we bought the house.
I know, you’re all asking yourselves why, why would I ever take those drapes down? Only because we added the bump out addition, friends (I kid. They wouldn’t have made the cut anyway).
We did a whole, whole lot to this space. The addition added some additional square footage off the back, but we also relocated the bathroom to where the old closet was, added a walk in closet, added the big beautiful slider, re-dry walled, painted, new carpet, and yeah, added in our decor. So yeah, it’s basically a whole new room.
Let’s kick off the tour with the after video, shall we?
Now that I’ve virtually walked you through the space, here are some purdy photos:
Like every other room, I’ll break down the space and get into how we did it all in upcoming posts.
In the meantime, I hope you’ll check out the rest of the tour. Up next is The Wicker House. And here is a complete list:

What a lineup, right? I usually spend hours looking at every home on the tour.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We will be running around like chickens with our heads cut off, preparing for the businest/craziest/most exciting two weeks ever. More on that very very soon!
Until then, my friends….
What a stunning transformation. Love it so so much!
Thank you sweet Julia!
From what I can see, I love the carpet. Could you share the details on that? I will be picking carpet soon for a house we’re building. So far I’ve been uninspired, but yours has caught my eye.
Hi Denae! I did a whole post on a carpet a while ago. Search “modern carpet” on the search bar.

What a beautiful bedroom. It is PERFECT! If it wasn’t because you mentioned the headboard was a DIY project I would’ve continued to think it was store bought which would have led me to ask where did you source it? Stunning transformation all around! I really love the bedding, the reading chair at the corner and the overall serenity that expells from the bedroom. I’m loving how bright it is! Yay! Oh, and the dark, charcoal carpet is also very “WOW”. At first when you introduced it in a previous post I wasn’t very keen on the dark carpet but I can totally see your vision now. You know what they say “give the lady some time to go through with her ideas/concept, no? Sheesh!” *wink*! As always, I am very happy and thankful for the video as well!
My goodness, what a sweet comment! Thank you so much! Happy you found some inspiration!
what a difference! it’s beautifully updated.
Thank you so much!

Hello, I am new to your blog. I love this bedroom and would like to recreate it. I do not see any links or information on where the furniture and linens are from or on the paint colours.
Could you please let me know where you put your information?
Cheers,
Hilary
Hi Hillary! Which pieces are you interested in specifically? I’m happy to share resources.
Hi there! Did you ever end up doing a full breakdown of this room with sources and everything? Dying to know more about your sliding doors. Thanks!
Hi there! The doors were ordered through Home Depot!
Can i ask the brand and color of the carpet! Its lovely!
Hi there! Not sure of the brand, but we got it from Carpet Giant.
