The kitchen of our latest project is a great example of how timeless materials combined in the right way work seamlessly in harmony. Today I’m sharing the kitchen in Project Valley Views!
In the Design Beginnings post, I talked about how this new build project was getting close to installation just as the plant came to a screeching halt for the pandemic. In a matter of days deliveries were delayed, the process for closing on the home drastically changed, stay at home orders were put into place, oh and just for good measure, we had a large earthquake. Things got a little crazy there for a bit, but our team really pulled together to get this home installed for our dear clients, who had just welcomed a new baby into their growing family.
When we were discussing the direction for the home, one of the first things we decided on was the marble tile backsplash. The Calcutta Gold has a bright, soothing feeling with touches of gold and gray, without being too busy. It’s one of my favorite marbles. We took it alllllllll the way up to the ceiling behind the hood and wrapped the window above the sink.
Our clients wanted a large island for family and friends to gather around. It is almost a perfect square, and a signature Stagg Design element is four large pendants above a square island (you might remember we did it in Project Desert Escape too!). I love how it feels grand and balanced.
When a space has a lot of cool tones, like marble and the gray countertop, we like to incorporate some natural materials. The woven wishbone counter stools were the perfect touch to make the kitchen feel more organic. Bonus: they are comfortable and feel really sturdy. They are from a trade resource, but I found some that are nearly identical.
The kitchen has a built in desk. We leaned a gorgeous vintage art piece and styled it with some simple, practical accessories. That art piece is a big hint for something VERY neat coming soon to Stagg Design Shop! Watch for the announcement soon!
This kitchen is such a cheerful, warm, inviting yet comfortable room with just the right mixture of metals and materials.
So much more goodness from this project to share! Stay tuned for the next reveal from Project Valley Views!
