Project Desert Escape: Downstairs Family Room Reveal

April 28, 2020

The second family room at Project Desert Escape is downstairs, but you can’t really call it the basement. The large retracting sliding doors look out not only over the infinity pool, but breathtaking views of the desert valley below. The goal with this room was casual, modern comfort and I think we accomplished exactly that. I give you the Project Desert Escape Downstairs Family Room Reveal.

If you haven’t checked out the rest of this client project, it might be best to start with our past room reveals. This home in the desert hills of Southern Utah is a modern oasis. Our clients love to entertain so we put comfort above all else when designing this home.

We wanted this room, like the rest of the home, to have an easy flow. That feeling of cohesiveness from one room to the next is of the utmost importance when I’m designing a home. I want every room in the home to feel like the same family lives there. That being said, the downstairs living spaces have their own personality.

Our clients wanted to house as many guests as possible so even though this home has four bedrooms plus a kids bunk space, we put a pull out sofa down here for an extra sleeping option. The leather club chairs are really chairs and a half, and are really comfortable. And the ottomans in front of the fireplace invite you to curl up by the fire and take in the views.

I also just gave you a glimpse into the downstairs kitchen, which has the most amazing tile! More on that space to come and it’s worth waiting for.

All of the pillows in this room are in stock right now on Stagg Design Shop and we’re having a big Mother’s Day sale happening now! 20% off almost everything on the site.

This room features the Evan Pillow in Ink, Isaac Pillow in Forest, Spruce Pillow in Winter White , and Marble Bookends.

The next webisode from this project is coming up later this week! Stay tuned!
