Today we wanted to share some of our favorite entryways from past client projects! An entryway is a space that shouldn’t be overlooked when designing a home. While it may be low on the list of priorities, it’s often the first space that friends and family see when they enter your home and sets the feel of the rest of the house.
Whether you’re working with a large space or a small space it’s best to keep the design simple and stylish. In a smaller entryway adding in a bench with a few cozy pillows can be a great way to utilize the area and provide room for extra storage. When you are working with a larger space placing a table at the focal point can help fill the room and gives you an area for a few fun tabletop accessories. Adding a mirror into the entryway is also a great way to utilize any empty walls and can make a space feel larger than it really is.
You don’t want your entryway to collect clutter so making a designated spot for common items can help alleviate any mess. Intentionally use items like baskets, storage benches, and bins. If you have a no-shoe household, giving your guests a place to comfortably take off their shoes will not go unnoticed. Small stools that can tuck neatly under a console table work great in an area with limited space and still provides a clean styled look.
In Project Western Roots the entryway became just as much a functional space for the family as it was an intentionally designed space. With an added console table and stools, we were able to achieve the functionality needed without sacrificing the look of a clean design. Making sure the entryway flows nicely with the rest of the home helps to create a feeling of unison throughout the whole space. We love when homes have a designated entryway because it acts as a transitioning space and provides a soft landing into your home.
