HOLIDAY SNOW GLOBES WITH MAGIC (video)

Merry Christmas Eve! I’m posting this week’s video a day early so it doesn’t go up on Christmas day. It’s a sweet little craft, perfect for tonight or tomorrow (or even New Years). Today I’m showing you how to make your own DIY holiday snow globe, with the help of some stop motion magic.
When I was putting my entry together for the holidays, I really wanted a snow globe. I just love them– they’re so whimsical and I’m on board with pretty much anything miniature. But I hate how every holiday snow globe you can buy in the store is A) pricy and B) has the year posted on it. Why, retailers, do you add the date? My solution was to make my own, sans water (I could just see Ruby grabbing a water filled jar and smashing it on the floor in slow motion).
First let’s get to the cute little video (my first with stop motion, thanks to the talented James Young).
My outfit details: Sweater | Leggings | Watch
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
A Jar (I picked mine up at IKEA)
Miniature figurines (mine are from Michaels and were really cheap)
E6000 glue (available at any craft store)
Artificial snow (again, from the craft store)
Essentially, you just glue the figurines down, let them dry for about 15 minutes, then toss in some snow, close the lid, and Ka-Pow! Cute little snow globe! Kiddies would love this craft. And adults. Like me. It was so darn fun.
Let them cure overnight so the glue gets nice and firm. They can slide around a little if you don’t let them dry well.
I with you all a very merry Christmas tomorrow. I’m powering through finishing up everything for Ruby’s Christmas morning playroom surprise. I think it’s gonna be ready. This santa may have to pull an all nighter. It wouldn’t be my project if it wasn’t down to the wire, right people?;)
