What a lovely weekend we had, celebrating the birth of the center of our universe. Ruby Sue turns the big two tomorrow (insert crying and denial here) and today I’m sharing her Pow Wow Birthday Party, in all of its toddler craziness/awesomeness. James was there with his family and put together this sweet video of the party:

I wanted the party to be wholly Ruby friendly. Nothing she couldn’t play with or do, nothing she couldn’t eat. All of her favorites and favorite people, all in the same place.
One of the first things I wanted to figure out were some tables. We used regular folding tables, then rather than setting them up, we used cinder blocks to shorten them. Worked great to have them at the kids’ level. It was close to perfect weather, but we did have some wind. We had to tape everything down and even that wasn’t enough the whole time (hence the pillow on the table holding things in place).
I found this really cute teepee fabric on Etsy, and ordered two yards to make table runners. There were other color ways as well, if you’re doing a boy party or different color scheme. It was so inexpensive! Most of the decorations are Oh Joy for Target, with Ruby’s teepee from her playroom, pillows from Ikea, and drop cloths on the ground from Home Depot.

The party paper products, candy bags, straws, etc are from a darling shop called Paisley Palooza. Super inexpensive and so cute! Friday I’m sharing all of the food details and have a giveaway from the shop!
The rest of the week, I’ll be sharing the activities for the party (they were perfect for this age!), the party favors (which were a hit!) and the food, which was so easy. On Friday I have an amazing giveaway with some of the party items I used– it’s a good one!
Beautiful party! Love the tables low to the ground, what a fun detail and perfect for littles!
