Well hello there! Let me welcome you inside one of our recent projects: Project Modern Model (#projectmodernmodel on social media). I’m thrilled to kick off several weeks of sharing this stunning home, starting with the family room. So come on in! Make yourself comfortable as I show you around.
Before we go too far, let me give you some background. This is a brand spankin’ new build home, high a top a mountain overlooking the Salt Lake Valley. It presented some unique design challenges and opportunities, as this is a model home and the house is currently on the market.
The client was wonderful to work with and really saw our vision for the design. Because it is a model, we couldn’t pull from anything else existing– everything had to be brought in. We also didn’t want to go over the top with every single inch full designed, but rather provide an inspirational setting for a potential buyer. So here we go, let’s start revealing Project Modern Model!
This room is really big. I knew it would need a lot of furniture to make it feel whole and inviting. I went with dueling sofas, and dueling chairs. A large coffee table and pretty rug rounded out the space. The out of those gorgeous windows literally takes your breath away, so I wanted to maximize that with comfortable seating.
Sometimes people are hesitant to put seating right in front of the fireplace but I say that’s the coziest seat in the house! Curl up with a good book and a throw blanket and you’ve got yourself a perfect place to gaze out the window and keep warm by the fire.
I selected art pieces from one of my favorite local artists, Christie Adelle. This pair of prints perfectly compliments the calming feel of the home.
And of course the sofas and chairs were piled up pretty with Stagg Design pillows and throw blankets.
Here are some of the links to products we used in this lovely space!
