Okay folks, I’m putting it out there for all to see– one of my most hated parts of my home: my front door. I say *one* of my most hated because the Beauty and the Beast style stained glass on the kitchen cabinets isn’t giving up the trophy at the top of the loathed list without a fight (oh wow, you’ll get a close up view of those babies at the start of the new year). But the front door, my friends, though it be ugly, needed some Christmasing up anyway.
Since we’re not ready to move our remodeling outdoors quite yet, I can’t really make my front door look truly inviting. But a pretty holiday garland was sure to help, right? I had a fun idea for a DIY garland involving nylons. (Bleh, I hate that word. Almost as much as “moist.” Ewwwwwww). It sounds a little whacky, but it looked really neat in my head so I thought I would give it a go after finding some pretty lights at Target and a bunch of inexpensive bulb ornaments at the dollar store.
Here is the video tutorial, and a close up of the world’s ugliest front door. Can we still be friends? I promise to answer the door really quickly when you come to visit:)

So what do you think? Ready to get your ornament wrapping on?
I am pushing to get Ruby’s playroom finished by Christmas morning and it’s gonna be tight. Anyone else behind on holiday prep? I feel like I need 8 more pairs of hands. Here’s hoping for a little Christmas miracle:)
Oh wow! I love this. I need to do this for my balcony

What an AMAZING video my friend. You’re just so darned cute. Great tutorial and it looks so good. Your door isn’t THAT hideous;) Just kidding, its not hideous at all. The garland definitely makes it nice and festive. Your editing is great too. You go girl.
Beautiful job, love the different shapes and the lights!
We should start a contest “the worlds ugliest frontdoor” – I guess my bluesteel and glass one from the 60ies would win.
