You can spend a lot of money putting a home gym together. You can buy weights, and machines, and tools and contraptions that look like torture devices (or are torture devices?). But there is one item, trainer and fitness pro Scott Browning says, that belongs in everyone’s home: the Swiss Ball.
You know those giant beach balls at the gym? Turns out they they’re Swiss balls. Who knew? Well, if used the right way, a swiss ball can give you a total body workout. And the great news is that they’re cheap. Like super cheap. You can find a great one for $15. Scott says if you’re average height, stick with a 54-55cm ball. If you’re tall, you can go a bit larger, but don’t get a ginormous one. Size matters.
Scott walked be through a simple workout perfect for all fitness levels. It would be a great quick daily workout, and if you have a swiss ball at home, you can squeeze it in any time. I like to set Rubes up with some toys next to me, and I burn while she plays. Darn, don’t you hate it when excuses don’t work?
Here’s a recap:
1) Hip Extentions/Hamstring Curls
2) Pushups
3) Abs
4) Wall Squats
Next week’s workout post is gonna be a goodie. It’s become a regular part of my workout regime– can’t wait to share!
Happy hump day! Now, celebrate one day closer to the weekend by squeezing a swiss ball workout in.
