Why We Started the Heart of the Home Podcast

The 80’s dance moves have been in full force over here. We’re all doing the Roger Rabbit because our new podcast, Heart of the Home, is officially off the ground and running! Yesterday we posted a little teaser episode and today we are posting several awesome episodes so you can get an idea what you’re in for and why we started the Heart of the Home Podcast.
I wanted to break down the first episode where I’m tackling the big question: why start a podcast? Nope, it’s certainly not because we were feeling bored or had nothing to do. We started one because we are passionate about home. I believe home is the most important place on the planet for you and your family, and designing spaces that are both beautiful and uniquely you is important. In fact, I want everyone to have a home they love. YOU, I’m talking to you! It is totally possible for you to have the home of your dreams without spending a gazillion dollars. You can play an active role in creating a home you love.
My childhood home is where I first felt the DIY itch, and it hasn’t gone away since. In this episode I talk about growing up in a home that let me scratch that itch a lot, and how it’s carried over to my adult life. Jon also had a unique upbringing and both of our childhood environments sort of primed us to be die-hard DIYer’s.
I hope this podcast will be a place we can learn new skills and share those experiences together. We want it to be a weekly boost and maybe that little high five of encouragement to tackle that DIY project that’s been on your list for-like-ever. I hope the interviews we share show you a new perspective, some new ways of living, and remind us that we are all much more alike that different. I believe love, peace, acceptance, and inspiration should be at the heart of every home hence the name of our podcast: Heart of the Home.
