Yesterday I spent an entire afternoon scraping 20 year-old gunk of out the cracks of my deck with a shim, getting the rest of it ready for it’s new coat of paint. Yeah, it sucked. But I know it will be worth it when the space is finished and pretty and functional.
I’ve been busy at work, pulling together design details for the Home Depot Patio Style Challenge. Today I’m sharing my color inspiration, and a few of the items I’ve selected as possible additions to the space.
These are some of the fabrics, patterns, and colors I’m gravitating toward. I want this space to be an extension of our home. I want it to be a place we can comfortably host friends or a party, but also an area we love hanging out in as a family, or just the two of us after Ruby goes down for the night. I’m aiming to create an intimate outdoor dining space, with style. And as I gather more pieces for our deck, I’m loving it more and more. Also count on a whopper amount of diy’s. I’ve been dreaming up all kinds of things, then trying to figure out ways to make them happen. So far, everything is doable, so that’s a bonus!
We’re hoping to finish the new stain this week, and move onto the next phase– the privacy issue. Remember the eyesore?
And no pressure for me (sh-yeah right!), but check out this amazing group of participants in this year’s challenge. Yep, I’m in real good company.
Stay tuned….
And ps: Jon ate milk duds and chocolate bars in bed next to me last night. It was heartless, if you ask me. Day one of #monthofnocrap down, without a single cheat. Heaven help me get through the rest of the month!
