Now that the living room is complete, I’m getting nitty gritty with the details. Let’s talk club chairs, shall we? Yep, these club chairs:
As you may recall, I found these gorgeous mid-century club chairs at a thrift store called DI. They were dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. And they had stains and the stitching was badly ripped. But boy, were they awesome. The shape was good, they were truly mid-century modern, and the legs–they rocked and swiveled! It was love, I tell you. I knew they were oozing with potential.
I had already found the couch for the living room and had plans to refinish it. I knew the chairs would look great with it. Since I was going with grey for the couch, I wanted a pop of color for the chairs. The room was heading in a soothing and soft neutral direction, so I wanted these chairs to be a bit bold, but not overbearing. I had my heart set on a citrine/chartreuse color.
The fabric I really wanted was $40/yard. Not astronomical, but I needed 15 yards. That was going to add up real quick. So, I instead started hunting for a deal. I checked Home Fabrics religiously and after a couple of months of searching, I found a fabric I thought would work. It was a tad darker than the fabric I originally wanted, but it was $6.99/yard. It was really excellent quality, heavy, and I knew it would wear well. I mean, I couldn’t go back to the more expensive option after that. I decided to go for it. And you guys, I nearly jumped with glee when they came back from Rocky Mountain Upholstery. They were so so SO good.
They look completely like something you would find in a store today, and we love them so much. Ruby loves to climb in them with a book, or sit on our lap as we rock her. And because the living room is next to the play room, the space works well for a few girlfriends to hang out while the kids play nearby. I could not be more thrilled with the finished product.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably seen me post #somebodybuythis. Whenever I find something great on online classifieds that I don’t have room for or don’t need, I post it on Instagram in hopes one of you can snatch it up. Many of the pieces I post are perfect for reupholstery. Follow along and I’ll live through you when you grab something great 🙂
Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday! We are neck deep into the master bathroom gut. I do love progress!
Fun posts coming up– I had to stop myself from posting 15 projects today.

I have been pillow obsessed lately! If chosen, I’d snag up the teal cover for my bed. It’d go great against the grey headboard and coral/grey/teal euro shams I just fluffed!
