I hope you had a lovely fall weekend! We had planned to go out of town but instead opted to stay home, hit up some local Halloween festivities, and relax. It was perfect.
We are slowly (so, so slowly) getting all of our window treatments up. I don’t know why it’s been so slow, as it is pretty important. Before we finished decorating the master bathroom, I was using Anna’s changing pad rigged with a bath towel over the window for some privacy. Classy.
For Jon’s office, a roller shade was the perfect blind. I know what you’re thinking– roller shades? Aren’t they kind of blah? You guys, I think roller shades are perhaps the most under-appreciated and under-utilized window treatment around. They’ve got a lot going for them: they’re clean and simple, they’re inexpensive, and they’re easy to install. Together (I wrangled two kids during bedtime prep while Jon installed. We team-install like that these days:) we’re showing you how to install a roller shade and I hope it makes you want to run out and buy some. Because they’re awesome.

This week we’re hoping to remedy the whole fish bowl effect for most of the rest of the house.
A few things coming up soon: the big playroom reveal (yayayayay!!!) next week. Also, Ruby’s big girl room is done and I can’t wait to share it soon. It’s pretty much the room of my childhood dreams (minus ballerina wallpaper) and I would move in if it wasn’t weird.
So what do you think? Would you roller shade a window?
