I’m a little sad we’re missing the holidays in our old house. It was finally finished and I knew my holiday decor would look so pretty in there. So, when Domino asked me to send them some photos of my tree, I naturally set it up– in the middle of the summer no less– and snapped some photos. Jon sure loved helping me set up and take down our tree on the 24th of July (Utah’s state holiday) the morning of a family summer party at our house. My life is so weird.
And so, I give you the Christmas setup I’ll dream of this year, while we are in our small rental, and I’ll look forward to next year’s decor, which I’m already starting to plan. Because I’m crazy like that.
My late grandfather sculpted and handprinted these little ceramic ornaments when I was a little girl. They are such a treasure.
Every year, we pick out a new ornament– a bird to perch in our tree. I attach a little tag with the year. It’s one of my favorite traditions.

My sister-in-law made our tree skirt for us the first year we were married. Can you believe that? It’s amazing.
This is an exciting week! I’m spilling the beans about our new/old house and starting the home tour. Demo has officially begun and we are giddy with excitement!
Also this week: my Home Depot Holiday Style Challenge post goes live. Hint: I was assigned dining room and it involves a lot of vintage and some really neat DIY ideas for hosting. Can’t wait!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend,
So pretty, Jen! BTW, the colors are the same as my Christmas decor and tree!!
