Halloween Home Tour 2017

October 5, 2019

This post is from our Stagg Design project archives and originally posted in October 2017. We hope it gives you inspiration and some tips for tackling that next project! xx- Team Stagg

It’s one of my favorite times of year for seasonal decorating:  Halloween.  I love the way our home feels this time of year– cozy and fun and a little bit spooky.  I switch things up slightly each year.  Here’s how this year’s Halloween Home Tour at the #Staggreno turned out.

Can we talk about those mountains?  Holy smokes, they are gorgeous this time of year.

We added a new seasonal family member.  We’ve named him Skinny.  (You can buy your own skeleton here)

The adorable cat can lights were a fun touch this year.  We hung them using command strip hooks.  By we, I mean Jon.  Since I’m still laid up from this darn back surgery, I played art director.  Back to the lights, we used three strings, just to give your perspective on how many you would need for your home.

The wreath is also a new addition.  It’s so reflective and fun, especially when the sun hits it.  It lights up!  Also hung with a command strip hook directly on the glass.

We always get our pumpkins and corn stalks from a small, family owned local nursery called Rosewood Gardens.  I love their selection and their customer service is awesome.  They also do our gorgeous planters for summer each year.

This year we planted our mums in planters pretty early and they froze and died.  Whoops.  We opted to replant with some hearty ornamental cabbage, grass, and pansies and I’ve gotta tell ya, I’m in love with it.  The cabbage may be my new favorite plant.

I picked up this brass and marble bat from Homegoods last year and still love it.  The wood witch sign is a new addition this year, also Homegoods.  I love that it kind of has a vintage Halloween feel to it.

For the fireplace, I reused the pom pom ball garlands I picked up last year, and added in a few fun Homegoods finds like the spell books and hourglass.

I’ll never tire of this view, or this time of year.  It’s just my favorite.

The perfect place to kick back and relax.  I don’t blame him a bit.
