Three years ago today, I held my precious Ruby in my arms for the very first time. Four weeks ago today our sweet baby Anna made us a family of four. Somehow that seems like the fastest four weeks of my life and yet it feels like this little person has always been here. Anna makes our family feel whole and my heart expands more every day.
Having another newborn has made me realize even more how fleeting childhood is– how one moment you’re rocking a sleeping baby and the next they are a curious, adventurous toddler who insists on wearing her princess dress all day.
It just so happened James was leaving on vacation on the day Anna was born, so another talented videographer came to the hospital shortly after her birth to capture our first moments together as a family of four. The first time Ruby met her baby sister was so special as I watched her curiously and tentatively meet someone I hope will become her best friend. I’m grateful to have it captured in this sweet video.

I can’t watch it without tearing up and feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude and love for these precious girls we have been blessed with.
Happy birthday, my dear Ruby. And happy four weeks, my sweet Anna. I feel so blessed to call these two darling girls mine forever. They are our whole world.
