Home Tour: Downstairs Family Room

January 29, 2015

We are just about finished with all of the “before” home tours, and I’m getting excited to get into the nitty-gritty of our massive renovation of our new/old mid-century modern home.  Today I’m showing you what the downstairs family room and bar area looked like before we cracked into it.  And boy, did it need a lot of cracking.  It’s kind of like walking into a time capsule from 1971.

There’s also a sneak peek of some furniture original to the home I’m planning to refinish.  Take a look!

We are well into the demo/construction phase and I’m already itching to move into the put-things-back-together stage!  Wish it could come faster.

Those sofas remind me of one I bought (yes, in the 70s) and have regretted getting rid of instead of replacing the worn out upholstery. It was a Kroelher, had a bench seat and was the best!
