Well, hello friends! I’m in the middle of one of the busiest/craziest/funnest/stressful/exciting months I can remember. There is so much happening all at once– a lot that I’ll be sharing here in the next couple of weeks, including a few very exciting announcements. Also this month, one of the most memorable trips of my life– Prince Edward Island with my dad and Jon and Ruby.
I was a big reader as a child. I would pour over books late into the night and after my dad thought I had gone to sleep, I would continue to read via flashlight under the covers. One of my favorite books was Anne of Green Gables. I love the way L.M. Montgomery writes and found myself daydreaming about what it would be like to live on Prince Edward Island, where the story is set. I would enthusiastically share what I had read with my dad who encouraged my imagination and he promised one day we would travel together to PEI.
The years passed, life happened, and I had all but forgotten about the trip I had dreamed up as a girl. But my dad had not forgotten. Earlier this year he said this was it! This was the year we were going to travel there together! Instead of just he and I, we had Jon and Ruby join us in our adventure and today is the last day of our trip.
To get there took a lot of travel: we had to go from Salt Lake City to Boston, from Boston to Montreal, then Montreal to Charlottetown on PEI. We left really early in the morning and arrived on PEI at midnight. Ruby was a champion traveller. She was happy the whole time and I had other passengers commenting on how good she was on each flight.
Today we leave and I’m so sad! We will depart in Montreal and I will head to NYC for the rest of the week for a really neat opportunity with Better Homes and Gardens (more on that soon!). My heart aches thinking about leaving them.
I’m going to break down our entire trip but for now, I’ll give you I’ll share one of my favorite photos from the trip. I can’t thank my dad enough for the amazing memories we made.
what a beautiful moment. memories to cherish.
So happy you had the opportunity to visit Prince Edward Island, I have been following your blog for several months and love it! I live in PEI so was delighted to see this post today!
I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy some of the amazing restaurants downtown and enjoy the beautiful scenery as well.
So so awesome Jen. I hope you enjoyed your time my dear:)
Thank you, sweet friend!
Can’t wait to see the rest of the photos, I still love re-reading all the Anne stories, even as an adult!
