It’s August. August people! Where has summer gone? And while we’re talking about things disappearing, that baby of mine? A baby no more. Ruby is full blown toddler. She walks with conviction. She eats her weight in watermelon. And she’s wearing pigtails– pigtails I tell you! They make her look like a teenager….. and they’re maybe the cutest things I have ever witnessed in person before. And while I wish at times I could go back to when she was a roly-poly ball ‘o baby, I love watching her grow a little bit more each day into the person she will become.
My adjustment from full-time worker-woman to at-home-blogger-mom is coming along. I am so very grateful for every night I am able to rock Rubes to sleep and sing her “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” or have a late night chat with Jon over Diet Coke and under moonlight. I do get a bit lonely during the day at times, but that is to be expected, I suppose. I’m still figuring out this new part of myself. Early morning runs and trips to Trader Joe’s are always a welcomed occurrence.
There is always a project– always– for us Staggs. We are sooooo close to being done with the duplex remodel. All of us are excited to get the new renters in, get our nights and weekends back, and get on to the next diy. So many plans!
Fall will be here before we know it. Crisp air and apples and a little girl (wahhhhh!) well on her way to running. And in the meantime, I’m soaking up every moment of my Ruby’s second summer by frequenting Hokulia (have you been? It’s maybe the best snowcone I’ve ever had) and passing out from cuteness every time I see her in her swimsuit. You can follow more of our adventures on Instagram.
How are you spending this summer?
I can’t agree with you more-Summer is FLYING BY!! I can’t take it.. We are headed on our last “getaway” this summer and it will be one that I will cherish forever- a trip to DISNEY!!! We planned this trip for my daughter Sophia(maybe a month or two older than Rubes). I know she won’t remember it since she’s only 16 months old (going on 16) but I can’t wait to see her face light up when she meets the characters!! It will be something special that my husband and I can share with Sophia before any other darlings come along.
I love coming here everyday- you’ve inspired a few of my posts and I admire you not only as a blogger , but as a very stylish Mommy too!!
