If you’re anything like me, during the Olympics I’m glued to the tv. I suddenly become a curling enthusiast. Sports I am normally never exposed to, I can’t get enough of. I just love the Olympics!
Back in the day when my hometown, Salt Lake City, hosted the Olympics, I danced in them. It was such an awesome experience and one I will never forget. And from working for an NBC affiliate, I’ve interviewed US athletes and I’m so inspired by them every single time.
This Friday to kick off the start of the Sochi Games, Comcast is hosting a community viewing party, and they asked me to share the details with my readers. If you’re here locally, it will be a pretty neat get together. Just look at who the guests of honor are:
And it’s free, people. Free! It’s at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo. Derek Parra and Chad Hedrick, both Gold medal Olympians, will be signing autographs and available for photos, there will be free food, face painting, kids crafts, and you can watch the opening ceremonies on huge screens. And there is a photo booth where you can pose as a gold medalist. I mean, what says party more than a photo booth? I dare say nothing.
The party is from 7-10pm this Friday. The address is 220 West Center Street in Provo. More information about the viewing party can be found on Comcast’s local blog at UtahComcast.com.
Go team USA!
