Entry Reveal: Staggreno

January 17, 2016

I’m playing catch up lately so my apologies for holding this post ransom.  I say it’s worth the wait!  Remember how bad in so many ways the entry in the #staggreno was before?  In case your memory has blocked it out (I wouldn’t blame you a bit), here’s a look back.

If there is one word that described the entry before, it’s dark.  Dark windows, closed off door, some bizarrely placed coat closets that closed off the entryway, and little light. IMG_5511  IMG_5530 IMG_5557 IMG_5558  IMG_5560 IMG_5561 IMG_5662

A lot went into what it is now– raising the roof, tearing out those closets, new railing, french doors into the new playroom/old formal dining room, new door, and of course, hardwood flooring.  Ka-Chow!  Here’s the after:

Originally, I wanted to move back the stair railing to the wall line, but if we did that anyone over 5 feet tall would hit their head going down the stairs so instead, I designed an open metal and wood railing.  Now I actually like how it turned out so you can see the railing from the front door.

I’m in love with the three oversized pendants hanging down the entry hall.  They’re from Restoration Hardware and the finish is so pretty in person.

Rug is vintage from Kaya Kilms.  Mirrors are a Target find from a few months ago (This one is almost exactly the same).

You can find the little white table here.  I can think of approximately 400 different places for it in my house.  It just seems to work everywhere.

And there you have it!  Major entry facelift, eh?

Happy MLK day!  What a great man he was indeed.
