Repurposing Light Fixtures in the #staggreno

September 23, 2015

How fun was yesterday for the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tour?  If you click back on my post, I’ve updated links to all of the tours from talented bloggers thus far.  These homes are really something.  And you can look in beautiful houses without any of the creepy factor:)

Speaking of creepy, let’s talk about what the #staggreno looked like when we bought it, shall we?  And while there was plenty of bad happening, there were a few glimmers of good.

A handful of light fixtures in the house were pretty awesome in their original state.  In fact, the style looked pretty darn close to a lot of globe lights available today.  Design really does come full circle, doesn’t it?

Although they weren’t in stellar condition, I didn’t have it in my heart to trash them all.  There’s something special about saying a fixture or feature is “original to the house,” am I right?

I decided to repurpose a few of them and I’m truly glad I did.  But I did run into a brief spray paint dilemma.  Here’s how I did it:

What’s your favorite gold spray paint?  I swear I’ve tried them all and I usually come back to Design Masters Gold Medal.  I’d love to hear your faves!

Halfway through the week, peeps!  Hope your week is going well.

Those light fixtures are amazing! I have tried the exact same spray paints and love the Design Masters the best. And it dries crazy fast!

Good call on switching spray paint colors. I agree though, it can be so hard to find a good shade of gold!

So glad you kept the original lights, they are beautiful.

Very Good tutorial! Thanks! Did you do the bookshelf spray painting? I would like more information on that.

I’ve been to several and even called a few more to try and find Design Masters spray paint. Where you you buy it from? BTW….I’m obsessed with your website and your style 🙂
